Somatiti Vidya or Laxman Rekha:
Maharishi Shringi says that there is a Vedamantra-
II सोमंब्रही वृत्तं रत: स्वाहा वेतु सम्भव ब्रहे वाचम प्रवाणम अग्नं ब्रहे रेत: अवस्ति।।
II somaṃbrahī vṛttaṃ rata: svāhā vetu sambhava brahe vācama pravāṇama agnaṃ brahe reta: avasti ||
This Vedmantra is the code of that Somana Kritika Yantra, which installed somesomewhere in the space between Earth and Jupiter. That machine (satellite) absorbs the atoms of water, air and fire inside itself. Reversing the code in a certain way pushes the atoms of fire and electricity back towards a targeted area.
Once upon a time when Maharishi Bhardwaj reached Vashishtha Ashram while traveling with the sages, in a general discussion, he asked Maharishi Vashishtha - How far has the empowerment and education of the Ayodhya princes reached? Maharishi Vashishtha said that this celibate Ram has learned to wield the Aagneyastraa Varunaastraa and Brahmaastraa. He's well versed in Dhanurveda taught by Maharishi Vishwamitra and this celibate Lakshmana is learning a rare Somatiti Vidya. At that time, that vidya was primarily taught in four Gurukulas on the earth. In the gurukul of Maharishi Vishwamitra, in the gurukul of Maharishi Vashishtha, at the place of Maharishi Bhardwaj, and in the gurukul of Acharya Shikamketu of Uddaalak gotra, complete education of this somatiti vidya was given. Shringi Rishi says that Laxman was well versed in that science. Another celibate described was also a good knower of that vidya.

By accomplishing this mantra, in that Somana Kritik Yantra, which has absorbed the atoms of water, air, fire and forman celestial electricity is mixed in those atoms ; the discharge is produced. Then that device is activated and with its help a fiery line circularly is drawn on the earth or any targetted area with the rays like a laser beam. Whoever is inside it will be safe, but if someone wants to forcefully enter inside the circle from outside, then he will get such a shock of fire and electricity that whatever person or thing is entering there will be reduced to ashes. This technology instead of it's original name of Somatiti vidya came to be known as Laxman Rekha in later course of time as it was used by him to protect Sita and the hut from any external harm during their vanavas in Ramayan .
Maharishi Dadhichi, Maharishi Shandilya also knew this Vidya, Shringi Rishi says that Yogeshwar Lord Shri Krishna was the last one to know this Vidya, he had drawn this line around the field in Kurukshetra's crusade, so that no matter how fierce weapons were used in the war, their fire, their heat and their shockwaves should not disturb other creatures by spreading out of the battlefield.
